Peace Studies meeting to be held at LBCC; travel to Europe!
Saturday, January 24, 2009
The Peace Studies program at LBCC will host a meeting in SSH gallery B for students interested in joining a student delegation that will travel to Europe to take part in the Biennial International Symposium on Education for Peace and Justice on Friday, Jan. 30, at 1:30 pm.
The organizational meeting, which is open to students of all majors, will offer information about the upcoming conference and the fundraising needed to make the trip a reality.
For trips in the past, the combination of fundraising, support from local groups and individuals in the Linn-Benton community, and funding from LBCC student programs has covered the basic costs for each student.
In addition to the conference, the meeting will discuss proposals for peace and justice activities on campus, opportunities for tuition grants, and possible service learning projects.
