Forklift safety training will be offered through Business and Employer Services at LBCC in room IC-106 on Saturday, May 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The course will provide four hours of classroom training and four hours of practical experience on the forklift. Printing services would like to help students who receive Trade Act Funds fax their forms to the unemployment office every week. Any student who needs to fax the form can do so for free in the Luckiamute Center during normal business hours.
LBCC will host Chris DuVal, an actor from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, on Friday, May 8 at noon in SSH-213. DuVal will perform dramatic monologues, and speak about his life as a professional actor. He will also answer questions from the audience. Cost is free. The LBCC Lebanon Center will offer the class “Financial Fitness” starting on Saturday May 9 from 9 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. The three-week class will inform those attending about the ways people spend money and will answer financial questions – topics include setting goals, spending habits, repairing damaged credit, financial priorities, predatory lending, and smart purchases. The Latino Club will show the movie “ A Day Without A Mexican” on Thursday, May 7 at 12:15 in F-113. The movie is about a day where the state of California wakes up without a single Latino left in the state. Ttey have all disappeared, chaos, tragedy, and comedy quickly ensue.
The Diversity Achievement Center continues with “Movie Mondays” next week, showing “No Safe Place: Violence Against Women” from noon – 1 p.m. According to the information provided by DAC, the movie “offers a thoughtful examination of the origins of violence against women.”
