Tech Blog: Getting Xfire to work with the Warhammer Online Beta

Welcome to my first tech. blog here at The Commuter.
Hope this isn’t violating the NDA, but then, I don’t think it’s wrong to say how to get another program working with a program you can’t talk about it and the NDA was lifted. Apologies if it violates it!
In-game stuff doesn’t work, mind you, but it will record your hours.
Step 1.
Go to your X-fire program folder.
Step 2.
Locate a configuration filed named “xfire_games”.
Step 3.
Open Aforementioned File.
Step 4.
Hit Ctrl + F and Type in: “Warhammer Online” this will take you to the Warhammer Online Beta entry, it’s much faster than searching manually by hand. The WAR Beta entra is also numbered as 5111 if you’d rather input that. However, if you really wish, you can scroll your merry way all the way down to the “W’s” since games are listed alphabetically.
Now, make the entry look just like this:

The parts to change are “LauncherExe” and “DetectExe”. You must change both of them from “Warhammer.exe” to “War.exe”
Also, if you want to be able to take screenshots modify “DISABLE_RELEASE” and change it to “ENABLE_RELEASE” (Already done in the above example. Then take “DISABLE_SCREENSHOTS” and change it to “ENABLE_SCREENSHOTS”
And voila, you may use X-fire in a limited fashion with the Warhammer Online 3.3+ Beta, though they will log your hours as if they were Beta 2.1 hours. Oh well!
