Everybody has something to praise and something to criticise about where they live. Your house may have a yard, but the plumbing’s wack. It may have hardwood floors, but the windows are drafty. And so on.
At what level does something go from being an accepted nuisance to an unacceptable intrusion? When should you just shake your head, and when are you right to to shake your fist? That’s the question posed on the first edition of Reader Response, where you get to sound off on the rights and wrongs of everyday or exceptional issues.
This week: Downtown noise, and what should and should not be acceptable to hear at 6 a.m.
To clarify for this week: Living downtown, I really have been woken up by all of the following noises at or before 6 a.m., Which do I have a right to bitch about? Why or why not?
-Traffic
-Garbage trucks
-People yelling
-Leaf blowers
-Jackhammers
-Hammer pounding a large metal mailbox at the post office
Which of these are appropriate for downtown residents to experience at 6 a.m.?
