How long has it been?

Too long! With all that’s been happening at the office, school, and the other office, it can be a little harrowing to even step away for the thirty-second of a fraction of a minute that it takes to write a blog.

Apologies.

The supreme court will take up today the issue of whether or not Barack Hussein Obama is a “natural-born citizen” as required to be President.

There are many different variations to this argument, but I’ll outline a few of the most popular:

1) Obama is ineligible for President because he wasn’t really born in Hawaii, he was born in Indonesia.

This is false. He was born in Hawaii. Here’s the birth certificate. Next!

2) He’s ineligible because he was born in Hawaii, but it wasn’t yet a state. Therefore, he wasn’t born in the US.

This is false. Obama was born in 1961. Hawaii was admitted into the union in 1959. Next!

3) He’s ineligible because his father is Kenyan, which gives him dual-citizenship and is therefore not a natural-born citizen, as required to be President.

This is false. It’s known that if you’re born here, you’re a citizen here. Period. Example: Mexican immigrants who have children here aren’t themselves citizens, but their kids are.

4) He’s ineligible because he renounced his US citizenship while in Indonesia as a child.

That’s funny. It reminds me of in “The Office” when Michael, struggling with debt, yells “I declare bankruptcy!” Everyone kind of looks at him and someone says something to the effect of, “You know you can’t just yell it out and have it happen. That’s not how it works.” Same thing here. There’s no paperwork (or even a strong rumor) that he formally dropped his citizenship. I also don’t know if a child can do that without parental consent… Oh well.

5) He’s ineligible because he’s black and he loves abortions.

Yep. Pretty much.

Here’s the point I’d make: I don’t give a rip where he’s from. Why does it matter? I would have voted for Obama had he been a mer-man from the oceans off the eastern Australian coast. And I still wouldn’t have voted for McCain even if he’d been Captain America from Anytown, USA circa 1954.

Our Founders could have never predicted how small our world became. Between cars, trains, planes, phones, radio, television, telegraphs and the internet, there really seems to be a lot less space between us and everyone else. Maybe we should embrace the fact that whites are slowly becoming a minority, and that more and more people are living here every day that were born somewhere else. And come on. It’s not as if a crazy trickster from across the ocean is going to con us into voting him in as president. Unless you are to believe this.

Uh oh. What have we DONE!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
