Kindness to the press
Saturday, January 24, 2009
President Barack H. Obama has been kind to us here at The Commuter.
Both his election and his inauguration have occurred on Tuesdays with enough time for us to cover the events, formulate opinions, and to find good photos.
Because of this, we’ve actually been a source of breaking news from Washington DC. Indeed, many thanks go out to the internet as well, for keeping us informed. And just as many thanks go out to the kind users of Flickr who donate their photographs to student journalists of the world. May you always believe so strongly in the free transmission of data and knowledge.

And what will surely continue to be two of the most newsworthy events of the century.
Call it luck or serendipity, but if things had been different, our election coverage might’ve been 1, 2, 3, or 4 days; even a week late.
Good times were had by all, especially at our election and inauguration parties.
And, like time, the news marches on…
