RE: All abort!
The CommuterFriday, May 29, 2009
Oh my God Mr. editor-in-chief. I am so grateful you showed your anger and intolerance for those so-called angry zealots out there at the University of Notre Dame. Of course I will be very surprised if you actually publish this since it is an attempt to shine the truth on your extreme intolerance you claim those religious zealots have. I could feel the anger in your words, but what I didn’t feel was tolerance. It’s a shame that an editor of a college paper has to go on a rampage and call names when he can’t discuss the issues factually. Is that the job of an editor of a supposedly nonpartisan paper? Thank you for showing your true intolerance so I don’t have to pick up the paper next time and actually expect intelligent stories. “Oh let’s just call names. That’ll do it by God.” “Let’s call them what I’m doing.” What is that called anyway? Well you might want to look up the word zealot before you keep throwing it around because it exposes your ignorance each time. Let me say that repeating talking points of propaganda doesn’t make you smarter or even appear smarter. Those people you are calling names actually have beliefs and values that you obviously disagree with. They are doing something they have the Constitutional right to do, which is called “peacefully protest.” You know that piece of paper thingy that was made a long time ago? You probably don’t even know that Roe v. Wade was a decision made by seven old guys in black robes that forced their beliefs on everyone in this country. They’re the same people that approved those wars you’re against. Something they continue to do today, some of us call it legislate from the bench which is unconstitutional. That’s what our representatives and senators do, or at least are supposed to. Now, the University of Notre Dame is a Catholic college, whether you like it or not, and the people protesting disagree with the decision of having not just the leader of our country but the one person in the Illinois Senate who refused to let a bill get to a vote that would protect children born in late term abortions get medical help. If you don’t know about President Obama’s pro-abortion record in Illinois then that makes you the ignorant one. Even when a botched abortion went bad and the baby lived in the third trimester, Chicago hospitals were throwing babies in laundry bins left to suffocate and die. No not rhetoric, look it up. Then Senator Obama was the committee chairman in Illinois and refused to let a bill forward that would protect those children. Even Democratic senators disagreed with him, thus passing the bill right after he left the state senate. Don’t believe me, look it up; can’t find it, call me I’ll get it to you. So now you may not believe in anything as strong as protecting the lives of an innocent child but 50 percent of Americans do. As far as the wars, that’s another story. But please don’t mistake me for a zealot; I am a Christian who is under attack from people like you who won’t respect my right to disagree and protest peacefully. I accept your right to have a different opinion, but don’t use your authority as a college newspaper editor to espouse your rhetoric when you are just repeating hatred.
