Madrone Hall is open for learning

LBCC hosted a “green” ribbon-cutting ceremony that began at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, at the college’s new science building, Madrone Hall.
The main event, the ribbon-cutting was at 4 p.m. in the lobby of the new building, on the southeast side of the Albany campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd. S.W.
The event included speeches by Rita Cavin, president of LBCC, Dan Lara, dean of science, engineering and technology division, John McArdle, driector of development and government relations, Amy Earls, LBCC student Poet Laureate, and the green ribbon cutting by LBCC officals and Albany Chamber Ambassadors.

Attendees were welcomed to tour the new building and refreshments were served in the lobby throughout the event.

The building is not yet completely finished, but Cavin said that it would be by Jan. 4, when classes start.
