Men's Basketball Falls Just Short of Glory

The LBCC Men’s basketball team secured a spot for themselves in the NWAACC Championship last Thursday with their victory over South Western Community College. After a tight race between the two teams the Roadrunners’ came back from a 6 point SWCC lead in the last 5 minutes coming out on top 85-76. Freshman Forward Jordan Highland helped cement their victory scoring 20 points and recovering the ball 9 times on rebounds.
March 5th: After earning their ticket to Pasco the Roadrunners fought fourth-ranked Bellvue for the chance to represent the Southern Division. Unfortunately the Bulldogs pulled ahead of the Roadrunners after a heated back and forth in the first period, demolishing their chances at the after a 76-53 victory. LBCC Forward Tyson Christie had a strong showing with 21 points and 7 rebounds.
March 6th The Roadrunners faced Clark in the consolation bracket once again fighting a hard first half to maintain a lead. Unfortunately the Clark Penguins gained the lead for the remainder of the game with the Roadrunners unable to close the gap the game ended at a 65-59 Clark victory. Ending the Roadrunner’s season at 12-16. Tyson Christie once again showed his prowess on the court scoring 17 points inside the line while stealing the ball 4 times to boot.
Christie and Sophmore Center Scott Teustch will be attending the All-Star Southern Region Men’s Basketball game Sunday March 15 at Pierce College.
